UX Design at Deloitte
All of my work at Deloitte is subject to secrecy, but I highlighted an overview of some of my proudest moments.
What is this? I worked at Deloitte for three years as a UX designer within the InsightStudio practice. I have worked with a diverse set of topics, ranging from life science to drone navigation. I have led in the definition and creation of detailed dashboards, style guides, and assisting in high-intensity challenging work. While most of my work is confidential, I want to touch on my impact and the type of work I have been able to create.
Why was this important? My experience at Deloitte began my UX design career, I was able to work with some of the best creators and brilliant teachers.
Life Science Client Platform Redesign
I had the opportunity to assist in the redesign of Deloitte’s most popular Life Science platform. This included redefining everything from reorganizing the information architecture to developing a brand guide for their visualization library. Deloitte uses this work as an example of “Best in Class” work to their Life Science clients.

Style Guide
After we completed the component library, we developed a detailed 40 page guide explaining how and when to use each components.
Design System
I pushed each component and their descriptions into a DSM. This allowed any future designer to pick up our work and iterate on further screens.
Finance Corporation Dashboard
I assisted in the definition and creation of a dashboard for a finance corporation. The dashboards were designed for 4 levels of risk management, from analyst to C suite executives. I aided in 10+ user interviews, the creation of user flows, personas, and 4 distinct dashboards. By end of the project, the client recognized the value of the design process and extended the work.

Client Asks
Managed multiple asks and held sessions explaining the value of our product and the importance of the choices we made.

Personal Takeaways
I loved my work at Deloitte as a designer and I have been able to learn so much within these past years.
Asking Questions. It can be intimidating being the newest and youngest on a team but my perspective is vital to the movement of the product and pushing the outcome. I have learned to be unafraid of asking questions and poking holes.
Reading the Room. Consultant work is people work, learning to understand body language and voice fluctuations is a necessary role. With the onset of the pandemic and online meetings, the skill has been harder to develop, but I have learned to love to read the silences and the awkwardness for the sake of a successful project.
Design Together. Being a UX designer means designing with others. I'm highly reliant on other people's expertise and subject knowledge. I'm learning to facilitate more conversations, and understand more nuance.
